Evening or All-Day Wedding DJ: How to Choose Your Coverage

Start with your wedding timings, then choose the DJ coverage that fits the parts of the day you want us to look after.

Your first dance is only one part of the soundtrack to your wedding. You might also want music as guests arrive for the ceremony, something playing during the wedding breakfast, and microphones ready for speeches. Or you may already have the daytime arranged and simply want your DJ for the evening party.

The useful question is: which parts of the day would you like Twilite to cover? Start there, then compare the hours and inclusions.

When evening DJ coverage fits

Twilite’s evening wedding DJ service covers up to five hours, with a professional DJ setup, sound and lighting. The music is planned around your preferences and your guests.

This can suit you when the ceremony and daytime music are already arranged and you want to focus on the reception: the first dance, songs your friends will recognise, and the music that feels right for your celebration.

Write down the time you would like the DJ music to start and your venue’s music finish time. Five hours from 7pm would run to midnight; five hours from 6pm would finish at 11pm. These are examples, so use your own running order when asking for a quote. Additional DJ hours can be discussed, subject to availability and your venue’s finish time.

What the all-day service covers

The All-Day Wedding DJ service provides the same DJ throughout an agreed 12-hour booking. It includes ceremony and daytime music, speech microphones, a five-hour evening set within the 12 hours, and 12 venue uplighters.

The evening set is part of the total coverage. It does not add another five hours after the 12-hour booking.

That makes the first and last music requirements useful starting points. If you need music early in the day, include that time when you enquire. Tell us if the ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening reception are in different spaces, so the sound arrangements and setup can be checked before you book.

You can ask for just part of the day

You do not have to choose a full-day booking to ask about daytime support. Wedding ceremony music and wedding-breakfast music and speeches can also be quoted individually.

Perhaps your venue is handling the evening entertainment, or you have already arranged a musician for one part of the day. Explain what is covered and what you still need. That gives us a clear starting point for your proposal.

Plan the music as well as the hours

A useful music brief does not need to be a playlist for every minute. Start with:

  • The songs for any specific moments you want us to cover.
  • A few favourites that show your taste.
  • Any must-plays and tracks you would prefer us to avoid.
  • The mix of people coming and the atmosphere you want.

For a ceremony entrance or first dance, include the artist and exact version of the track. Live, acoustic and original recordings can feel very different, so identifying the right one early keeps the plan clear.

Check each extra’s hire period

Your DJ coverage and photo-hire hours are separate. A Magic Mirror booking covers three hours, while the standard Digital Photo Pod covers five. Full-day Pod hire with a backdrop is a separate option with agreed times.

If you choose a wedding package, check its inclusions against your running order. The all-day DJ service already includes 12 uplighters, and the package descriptions explain the photo-hire period included.

Send us the timings you know

You do not need a finished schedule to make an enquiry. Send your wedding date, venue, the parts of the day you want covered, and your approximate start and finish times. Tell us which details are still being decided.

Compare the Wedding DJ options, explore the wedding packages, and see current rates on our Prices page.

Then tell us about your wedding. We will check availability and confirm the coverage, arrangements and final price in your proposal. An enquiry does not reserve your date.
