Plan Your Wedding Music

Turn favourite songs into a clear wedding music plan, from ceremony cues and speeches to your first dance and final track.

Start with the moments, then choose the music

You do not need a song for every minute before you speak to your DJ. Begin with the moments that matter: arriving at the ceremony, walking back together, sharing your first dance and bringing everyone onto the floor. That gives your ideas a shape without turning the planning into another full-time job.

Make a small list of important tracks

For each planned moment, record the song title, artist and exact version. An acoustic recording can feel quite different from the original, and a live version may include a long introduction. If a particular section matters, note that too so the cue can be discussed.

  • Ceremony entrance and any other agreed ceremony music.
  • Music for the drinks reception or daytime atmosphere.
  • Your first dance and any other special dance.
  • A song for a particular entrance or shared moment.
  • An idea for the final track.

These are prompts, not a list of moments you must include. Keep the ones that belong to your wedding.

Give the evening a musical direction

Choose a handful of favourites rather than trying to predict the entire night. Include different parts of your life: the songs you share as a couple, the tracks your friends grew up with and a few that connect with the wider family. Tell us what you enjoy about them; it may be the era, the energy or a particular memory.

A short do-not-play list is useful too. Separate songs you simply do not like from tracks you would rather avoid for a personal reason. You only need to share as much explanation as you want.

Put music beside the timetable

Add the ceremony, food, speeches, first dance and venue finish time to one running order. Note who can give a cue if something changes. If different rooms are involved, identify where each part happens and when those spaces become available.

Choose the DJ coverage that fits your timetable:

  • Evening wedding DJ: your professional Twilite wedding DJ and up to five hours of DJ entertainment.
  • All-Day Wedding DJ: your professional Twilite wedding DJ for 12 hours with ceremony and daytime music, speech microphones, a five-hour evening set within that total and 12 uplighters.

Extra DJ hours depend on availability and venue timings. View prices for current standard and qualifying wedding-date rates.

Your useful first message

Send your date and venue, an approximate timetable, the important tracks you already know and a few favourite artists or styles. Mark anything still undecided. We can then discuss the music and agree the details around your plans.
